Enjoy a weekend away or just Sunday to celebrate the birth of BMW motorbikes at the historic Llanelly School which has heaps of room for camping and caravans onsite, plus motels nearby. We have all facilities at the school site, including free cooking and a BBQ. We will have a traditional bonfire on Friday and Saturday nights (weather permitting).
For a small fee of $75 you get free camping, two cooked breakfasts, a 2 course sit down dinner (Saturday), unlimited coffee and a very entertaining guest speaker in the evening talking about BMW motorbikes. Booking is essential - 100 member limit at the dinner.
The plan:
Friday dinner at the Newbridge pub (2 kms) or your own BBQ on the several BBQs at the site followed by outdoor camp fire to cook those marshmallows and tell outrageous stories.
Saturday after your cooked breakfast, a history/mystery background ride to Bendigo for lunch followed by a visit to a private motorcycle museum in the heart of Bendigo to see many early model BMW motorbikes including the first and original unrestored, working R32. In the evening we will be treated to a sit down 2 course meal followed by a very entertaining talk by guest speaker Grant Roff of Motorcycle Trader fame, then we adjourn to the camp fire for tall stories.
On Sunday, after another cooked breakfast for those who stayed overnight, we move tack to enjoy a big club day and sausage sizzle lunch at the Llanelly Hall.
The GS911 diagnostic computer will be available for correcting bike system faults, changes to bike servicing notifications and tyre pressure readings for members to check and reset their bike systems. GS911 only - this will not be a service day. The organisers would appreciate prior notification if you would like to use the GS911 service.
As this is also the 50th anniversary 0f the R90s, there will be a display of the iconic R90S motorbikes and R90s memorabilia with awards for appearance. If you have a lovely R90S this is the perfect opportunity to hit the road and be at one with your treasured bike! Not registered, not running or being restored, bring it on the trailer, We'd love to see them all so be ready to add your bike to the display.
There will not be a charge to attend, but a cash donation for the sausage sizzle lunch would be appreciated, tea and coffee will be available all day.
Lock in 22-24 September for this super, good value, weekend with so much happening!
